Meditations
”To whom do you belong?”(1 Sam 30:13)”And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.”(Acts 4:13) “I pray also for those who will believe in Me because of [the word of the apostles] that they may be one, just as you, Father, and I are one, that they may be in us.” (John 17:20-21) “On that day you will ask Me nothing.” (John 16:23)
On what day? Wouldn’t it be wonderful to never be frustrated or angry or demanding an explanation from God about anything that comes upon us? Jesus makes us a promise. So, that day is definitely coming for each of His true children. “It will be the day when your spiritual nature, your very soul, is willing to submit to the life of Jesus. You will have arrived at the place where there is no spiritual distance between the Father and you, because the Lord has made you one. You won’t have to move out of your house, or leave your present job, or become a monk in the desert eating grasshoppers, although that might be the answer for a few. ‘In that day’ there may still be any number of things still hidden from our understanding – ‘too wonderful for me to know.’ Job knew that day. (Job 42:1-3) But they will not cause you to question God. Are you becoming that person? Jesus doesn’t say you have to wait for heaven. Eternity can begin in His kingdom today! (Mark 1:14-15)” (Oswald Chambers)
If you don’t feel certain that this is happening in your life right now, you have only to ask the Spirit and He will begin “teaching you all things.” (John 14:26) “In the life of faith, neutrality is not an option. We are either ranked under the banner of the Lord Jesus, to serve and fight His battles, or we are slaves to Satan… ‘To whom do you belong?’ If you have truly been born again, you belong to Christ, you are not your own (1 Cor 6:19), for those who trust in Jesus are sons and daughters of the King and you cannot be snatched from His hand. (John 10:28-29) If you have served your time under the Master’s guidance, it will be said of you, ‘they recognized that they had been with Jesus. Since you belong to the King of all Kings, be determined for Him in all things, and you will be marked as surely as if you bore His scars.” (Charles Spurgeon) “On that day?” Let it be today! (John 14:18-21)
