A GREAT AND ETERNAL PRICE
You are free in our time to say that God does not exist; you are free to say that He exists and is evil; you are free to say … that He would like to exist if He could. You may talk of God as a metaphor or mystification; you may water Him down with gallons of long words, or boil Him to the rags of metaphysics; and it is not merely that nobody punishes, but that nobody protests. But if you speak of God as a fact, as a thing like a tiger, as a reason for changing one’s conduct, then the modern world will stop you somehow if it can. We are long past talking about whether an unbeliever should be punished for being irreverent. It is now thought irreverent to be a believer.
G. K. Chesterton

At one time in the life of Chesterton, he was an avid and boisterous atheist. Being a “thinker” he spent time in examination of the atheistic view points in which to support his own. What happened to him is what happens to most everyone who examines both sides of an issue. Examination in truth, comparing the empirical evidences , relevance and adequacy of any issue most times brings an intelligent man to a non-biased conclusion; that only being true if the man is honest enough and humble enough to actually seek the truth beyond himself.

Chesterton also said, “The Christian faith has not been tried and found wanting. It has been found difficult and left untried.”

I have always been amazed to this thought which most who look to dispute Christianity hold in their deepest and darkest heart thoughts; “I am free, if I do not become a Christian, to do what ever, who ever, and how ever I want .” The reality of this can be found in most who argue back with the “hypocrite” argument. We will not go into that in detail but to only say, one can follow admitted hypocrites through every church door and even the gates of heaven or one can follow hypocrites in denial through the gates of hell. Either one you follow only does one thing; it adds one more to the collection of either saved or lost hypocrites.

Back to the point and conclusion: In our time as in the time of Chesterton we are free to say anything we wish negative of God, Christ or the Church. This is thought to be “vogue’ and a politically correct stance by any person in any venue. We separate the ideology of Church and state and claim that we render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s. When in fact nothing belongs to the Caesar’s of this world. Nothing belongs to the state in which to separate. It all belongs to God. Psalms 24:1 A Psalm of David. The earth is the LORD’S, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

The world and they that dwell therein. OK, blow up and puff like an adder and say, “I do not believe that”. You will be in good company! Most lost people do not. Most lost people and all lost professors claiming or holding to, any other gospel do not believe or adhere to that truth. And most , if for no other reason than, “there may be something lost if I go the Right direction.” Lost? None of it was yours in the first place and what is lost to you will only be your soul and the souls and lives of the generations which you have, in arrogating such cupidity and narcissism, taken with you as you are followed through the gates of hell.

Perhaps in these days it is now thought irreverent to be a believer, and perhaps you may even claim to be a believer. But here is where the proverbial “rubber meets the road”. If you ‘do not’ speak of God as a fact, as a thing like a tiger, as a reason for changing one’s conduct then you are playing a dangerous game or either you are lost. You may say, I do not believe all that Religious baloney or even that you believe it but with some exception. If that is the case they you have not actually examined the evidences or even worse perverted them to fit a culturally acceptable but perverse lifestyle as to biblical standards and truths; truths which do not change with the times or whimsical liberties of man. Either way, if the Holy Spirit is not haunting you toward submission to an immutable God and His immutable Word then you are Lost. You may answer, how can you say such strong and absolute words. It is not the words written here but the persistent anti-christian actions and attitude in a life, written down, that will, and does, condemn the unrepentant, and gives evidence to these truths.

So Go ahead; “You are free in our time to say that God does not exist; you are free to say that He exists and is evil; you are free to say … that He would like to exist if He could.

But there is a price, a great and eternal price.

This is so true!!! God gave us the freedom to choose. However, our decision to believe or not has repercussions. If you choose to deny God exist, the end result, is you’ll be entering the gates of hell. Should you choose to believe in God- you will receive his blessings, mercy and grace along with eternal life So, at the end of your time, the gates of Heaven will open for you.
Thank you so much for being an advocate for our God. There is no way to tell how much influence the atheist has on the lost souls. Opinions and facts from the believer listed above is what’s needed to over come the false belief of an atheist.
